I knew God since I was in primary school. I even decided to follow Jesus without any knowledge of Him. Yet I was not invited to go to church until the time when I was preparing for my public examinations. I learnt more about Him in church, yet there were still a lot of questions in my head unanswered.

Things started to fall apart during the time when I was undergoing through my two public examinations, which challenged my walk with God. Under tremendous pressure and workload, I was so physically sick that I could fall asleep anytime anywhere unconsciously. I was mentally sick too, that I often threw temper to the people I loved. My attitude worsened the relationship with my family. Moreover, given a lot of hard work, my results for A-Level were still not satisfactory to get an offer from the local university. The feeling of unworthiness and disappointment in myself challenged my faith that God has the best plan for me.

I chose to put my faith in Him, who promises the best for us. Praise God that because of my failure, I had the chance to study in Australia, which I had been dreaming of for ages. God also used this time to tear down the walls between me and my family, and our relationships started to restore. Thank God for this church He prepared for me, which helped me to know Him more and have a closer relationship with Him!

One of my church leaders gave me this verse during my hard time, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13) When we are too focused on the situations we are experiencing, we will not be able to see the full picture of His purpose. Our God is a God who knows us well. He knows that I knew Him in ‘head knowledge’, but not ‘heart knowledge’. All the low seasons I experienced had helped me to know Him more and believe Him from the bottom of my heart.

Friends, our God is faithful. Believe in Him, even when you are in the valley moments. Everything that happens He has a purpose behind, and He is surely with you throughout this life journey.
