It was by God’s grace that I had the opportunity to study overseas and finally to become a registered pharmacist in Australia. Transitioning into a new chapter of life was never easy, but I believe God always covers us in His hands.

As a newly registered pharmacist, finding a job was difficult due to my lack of experience in the workforce. I had a few interviews, yet the fact that I did not have a car made it even harder for me to get a job. Four months into job-hunting, I was getting desperate as I started to struggle financially. However, God’s grace never fails for those in need. One morning, I received a call from a pharmacy in Bundaberg, offering me a permanent full-time position with relocation allowance, which I accepted. God surrounded me with nice colleagues and a great working environment, enabling me to grow in my professional experience. During my time there, Bundaberg suffered two destructive floods in three years, and one side of town was forced to evacuate. I thanked God for His protection over my home and work place, which were safe from the floods. He also put peace and courage in my heart that I was able to help those who were affected by the disaster.

God then put a seed in my heart that I should return to Brisbane so my spiritual life could grow more in Him. At first, I hesitated as Bundaberg had become my comfort zone, and I worried that searching for a new job would be difficult. I believe God had His marvellous plan in mind, and surely He prepared the way. After discussions with my boss, it was suggested that I apply for an internal transfer to Brisbane. At first it was only a part-time job, an 8-hour shift per week. Yet by His grace, I was soon asked to work in other stores and was able to work at least 30 hours per week. Three months later, I was offered a full-time position in one of the stores in Victoria Point. Praise God!

Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
