Less than 3 months until the Christmas season. Once again, Hands of Hope aims to bring some Christmas cheers to the south-western community of Brisbane through our flagship event – Christmas 4 Kids! This year will mark our 15th year of celebration as part of bringing hope in practical ways to help build stronger and more sustainable communities.

Where did it all start? Formerly known as Santa’s Gift Factory, C4K started in 1998 with 50 children in a school in Mt. Gravatt. In preparation for the building Unidus Community Centre, C4K was held in Inala for the first time in 2003 with 250 children in attendance. In 2006, C4K was awarded the Community Event of the year, in recognition of its impact in the local community. The impact continues on until today.

“I have been coming to this event for the past 4 years. Without this event, my children would never have had such fun and lovely Christmas experience.” – local community member.

This year, our aim is to continue fostering community involvement, by involving children and young people in a range of positive and interactive activities to build self-esteem and to bring hope.

To make this event possible, we are looking for at least 150 volunteers to contribute 6 hours on that day.
