During my student days, I was able to attend and serve on Sunday service because my schedule had regular hours and was predictable. Since I started work, I could not always attend church or lifegroup due to work rosters and so my serving came to a halt. In this new season, God showed me that He is not concerned with what or how much we can give/attend/serve.
On one Sunday, I needed to go to Gatton (rural region), but I was able to attend the SL service beforehand. A girl sitting next to me approached me and there she told me she was invited to church by street evangelism but never found the person who invited her. I was amazed by her curiosity and openness towards Christ. I connected her to my lifegroup and left Brisbane for a period of time. Long story short, with different lifegroup members pouring into her life, she became a Christian a few weeks ago!
Another Sunday that I was able to attend church, there was a guy and a girl who sat a few vacant seats away. We started to chat when the chairperson said it was greeting time. They told me that they were Christians who just started their study in Brisbane and were seeking for a church to settle down. I referred them to the UQ lifegroup that were able to help them with accommodation and other adjustment issues they face.
In retrospect, it was interesting to see how God leads me to connect people, despite the fact that I was not a regular attendee. Our busy schedules do not stop God from moving. Perhaps, we are rostered every single day right where we are! He has planned and tailoured the tasks for us to complete.
