When I reflect back on 2019, a phrase comes to mind – “Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses”. This year has gone by in a whirlwind, so much has happened in the blink of an eye. And God is reminding me to look back and reflect on how good He has been to me, how far He has brought me and how far He can take me.

This year I am thankful that God opened the door to provide me with a casual job after 6 months of searching since graduating last December. While working this job, God then provided me with the opportunity to apply for a full-time position with the same employer. Many of my co-workers encouraged me to apply and were very supportive in the later processes. After further rounds of applications and an interview, I was successful in gaining a full-time contract almost 6 months later from the original starting point. I have been blessed in my new position working with a wonderful team. God has shown me much kindness through my colleagues and provided for me to support my family.

But beyond this, God has also been working behind the scenes. I felt like there were many spiritual battles, throughout which He has remained patient, gracious and faithful. This is what I am most grateful for in 2019. He has shown me that He never stops pursuing me, protecting me, praying over me and revealing His Living Word ever so gently into my life. No matter how many questions I ask him, what walls I continue to build back up, no matter how far I could run or hide from His presence, He always welcomes me home and calls me His daughter. I am ever grateful that God will never let me go or stop fighting for me. No matter what comes in the years to come I know I can turn to Him and He won’t be afraid to meet me at the altar. For in my weakness, He is strong, and He is also understanding.
