I want to share about God’s provision and protection in my job situation in the past 2 years.

In early 2017, I was made redundant and was fortunate enough to get a contract administrative job with a government agency straight after my employment ceased. It started with a three months contract and then it got extended to six months. I was hopeful that they kept renewing my contract. However, mid-September 2017, they informed me that they no longer need my service. I looked for opportunity in the private sector and found none. So, I reached out to the accounts team in the same government agency, and they decided to take me in for another 3 months as an accounts officer.

After 8 months on the job, the role became available for me to apply for a permanent position. Of course, I applied for the position, hoping to secure the permanent role. But deep down in me, I hesitated of wanting that permanent role as the working environment was uncomfortable. Logically, I need this permanent job to sustain me, but mentally, I was exhausted from working in that environment.

So, I prayed to God, to give me the outcome as per His loving plan.

True enough, I did not get the job because they decided to employ an external candidate with better qualification. It was hurtful even though God’s plan prevailed. I continued to have faith in God’s provision and believed that He will open another door when one shut. This experience helped me to learn about God’s provision, protection, and healing in a new way. I could testify that He never leaves nor forsake me even when I did not understand the situation.

Now, I am employed as permanent staff in a private firm as an accountant. All glory to God. He protects, provides and heals.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
