I would like to share with you about my journey with God and hope that it can encourage you all!
I first heard about God when I was young (about 5-6 years old) because my grandma is a really lovely and godly woman. Then, when I came to Australia and enrolled at a Christian high school, I met many Christian teachers and enjoyed my time learning from them. I continued to have Christians as close friends as I transitioned into University. Looking back on my life, I realize that the Lord has continuously blessed me and called me, long before I even accepted him.
I struggled during my early years at University, not because I could not meet academic requirements, but because I was lonely and had deep unrest in my heart. It was then that God approached me once again. I was introduced to life-group in 2019 and was so touched by the love and kindness from all the leaders and friends. I felt that the church was where I belonged – it was my home away from home. After being a regular visitor to the church for several months, I started to learn the personal stories of others in life-group. I understood more and more about how God transformed their lives. No matter how dramatic or subtle they are, those stories touched my heart. God’s call to me was so vivid, so undeniable. So, I decided to accept Christ and be baptised in the church.
My journey with God has just begun. I am sure there are many more things to learn from God, many more tests to pass. But I know that God’s love is everlasting; it relieves my fear and worry, and encourages me to move forward.
Jeremiah 31:3, “The Lord appeared to us in the past saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
