At the start of 2020, I was temporarily working and travelling in Sydney. When the government announced the border was about to close, I quickly ended my work and rushed back to Queensland. Upon arriving back into the state, I did not have a job and would need to move into a new unfurnished place soon. I was worried about the upcoming expenditure related to moving into an unfurnished home and the ongoing living costs without an active income. Looking at the job market in the COVID climate, it was unlikely any practice would take in a new person. I asked God to provide a job knowing how impossible the situation was. At the same time, I was making calculations for any foreseeable expenses for the new place. I did not pray much about it because I had settled in my mind that I only need a mattress and a vacuum to live simply. God said He is Jehovah Jireh.

The week before I moved into the new place, God gave me a job against all the odds! Within the same week, a life group member needed to vacate his home to move overseas. So, he offered to borrow his furniture to my housemate and me. Instead of an unfurnished home, I moved into a fully furnished place with a job that was about to start.

God poured out His abundance out of His glorious riches and blessed me for the things I had asked and had not asked. He provided and took care of the concerns of my life.

Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.”

He is Jehovah Jireh. He provides for me and so He is with you. Claim His promises and declare that He is your provider!
