Hello once again, from Kids Summer Club. This year, our theme “ADVENTURE” aims to challenge kids to trust God as we go through life. We talked about the Israelites entering the promised land, and how God helped them, and how Joshua and Caleb trusted God even when it seemed impossible.
With this year’s Summer Club, there was a lot more emphasis to get the children to learn from the Bible and have fun learning it. There were also many team challenges, team building activities, and obstacle courses. We had children coming from different schools, and it was good to see them getting to know one another.
The heart behind the Kids’ Summer Club is wanting the children to have an avenue during their school holidays, to have fun, and learn in a Christian context. However, as we continue to move this Summer Club forward, we would love to extend what we do more towards the community that our church is in, and hopefully through such programs, help people to see the value of investing in the next generation’s lives and also how God can make a difference in their family too.
This year, over the 2 days of Summer Club, we had 32 children join us, and it was really good to see them grow in their relationship with God and experience Him. It is not just about fun and learning, but also creating memorable encounters with God, for the children. One of the highlights was our Memory Verse challenge. All the children love the Memory verse song and the actions, and it has become something that they take away with them after the Summer Club. “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. “ Joshua 1:9
