I was very consumed with negative news about the outbreak of COVID-19 in Australia and around the world. It can be quite depressing after reading and watching about the spread of Coronavirus. There is so much fear on social media and news that can cause me to lose sight of God and His purpose on earth.

One morning, I came across Colossians 4:5, “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity” during my morning daily devotion. In the afternoon on the same day, while I was going for a swim, an Australian man started a conversation with me. He told me that he had a heart attack while swimming two days ago and he had to go to the hospital. I immediately prayed for the healing of his heart. As I was praying for this man, God gave me a prophecy for him. I told him “God wants you to surrender your relationships to Him. Relationships that are hurting you, hand it over to God.” Later, he confirmed with me that he recently broke off with his girlfriend, and his parents had also hurt him. God’s words touched him through a stranger like me.

I am so glad that during my exercise in the pool, I can be a channel of God’s love and comfort to someone who is hurting. Thank God for the chance to put my morning devotion into practice! Let us make the most of every opportunity to bless people with God’s love even during the Coronavirus outbreak!

God is still in control during this Coronavirus crisis, and He wants us to focus on Him and be a channel of His blessings to people around us.
