Personal Evaluation

This Spiritual Growth Assessment Process is a tool to help you in examining your personal spiritual growth. Before you start, prayerfully ask God to guide your reflection. Since these statements require a subjective response, God’s guidance is the key to an accurate and honest picture. Also, resist the urge to compare your scores with others as that will often lead to either self-condemnation or pride.

Not Just Effort

There is also a temptation to think that our personal efforts are central to spiritual growth. Remember, growing to be more like Christ is all about Christ working in and through our lives and not us striving. God desires the transformation of our hearts over legalistic and religious actions. God does the revealing, renewing and empowering. Our part as disciples of Christ is to surrender, obey and submit.
Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
PSALM 139:23-24
