I want to share a short testimony of partnering with God in prayer. One particular day as I was getting ready to leave the house to head off to university, God prompted in my heart to pray for a specific brother in my life group. I was thinking that I will pray on my way to uni as I was running a little late. But the prompting from the Lord only got stronger, so I sat down and decided to pray for this brother.

As I was praying, I sensed an urgency from God in his current situation, and so I just kept praying in the spirit and interceding for my brother till I sensed God’s peace over his life. I did not think too much about it over the next few days till I spoke to this brother about it. He was sharing that he was going through some personal struggles and did not have the mental and spiritual capacity to pray about his current situation. His only prayer to God at that time was for God to send someone to pray for him. It just so happened that God spoke to me to pray for him at about the same time he said that prayer to God. It was after that time that he was able to overcome.

want to encourage everyone to be alert to God’s prompting. And if He does prompt you to pray for someone or to pray over a situation – pray immediately. Do not wait till you find the right time and place for it. You will be amazed at what God does in people’s lives around you and the growth of faith in your own life as we choose to partner with him.

Ephesians 6:18, “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
