Our Father God is forever good and amazing. I am privileged to share one of the testimonies He graciously gave to me and my family.
Last year when I went to Korea, I visited my grandma in my mother’s family who has been hospitalised for many years. She is now 85 years old and has been a staunch Buddhist all her life. I felt strongly to offer her a prayer and share the Gospel with her, and my mum has also been praying for her salvation. It took me great courage to do so, as she was not only a Buddhist, but she had been actively involved and serving as a senior member in her temple. While I was praying for her, I felt God’s burden over her lost soul and decided to share the Gospel. When I encouraged her to trust in God and to accept Jesus as her personal saviour, to my surprise, she said she actually has been considering about it, because there had been evangelists visiting her and sharing the Gospel with her.
I really thanked God. Even though my mum has been praying from Australia and there was no one to share to her about Jesus personally, God has already sent messengers to soften her heart. However, she said she did not want to cause any dispute in the family as most of the other family members are Buddhist. I felt sad on hearing this, as I knew she did not have many days to live yet still being away from God. After I came back to Australia, my mum and I continued to pray for her salvation.
During this year’s Oceania Convention, God gave me a great burden for family members and friends who are yet to know Jesus. God reminded me that all Christians have a mission from God which is to harvest the lost souls. During the Convention, I prayed for those who still did not believe in God, including my grandmother. On the second day of the Convention, God spoke to me through a prophet that He has been listening to all my prayers and not a single prayer is wasted. On the very same day, I received a message from my mum saying that my grandma was going to be water baptised. Praise God! God answers even when my mum and I, who have little faith, prayed for the salvation of one soul, how much more could He do when we pray wholeheartedly with full faith in God!
I would like to encourage everyone whose family members and friends have not yet received Jesus as their personal Saviour to press on in prayers. Our God is listening to our prayers, and He has placed us where we are for a reason. In Matthew 9:37-38 Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”
Our God is faithful and He has promised us in Matthew 18:19-20, “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
