This all began during the month of December, as I initially came to Australia to visit my brother in Melbourne. We toured Australia and it reached a stage in January where my brother said to me ‘oh how I wish you could study here in Australia.’ at that time I liked the thought of it, but I could not realistically see it happening.

Eventually, I decided to apply in mid-January to QUT, 4 days before I would fly back to South Africa, my brother told me ‘to go to any random University campus and see what it is like’. Not seeing a purpose to doing so, I decided to just listen to him and follow his advice and therefore went to La Trobe University to see what the campus looked like. As I was walking around on the campus, I believe at that stage my faith started increasing as I could see myself studying in Australia. So, through faith, what seemed unrealistic began to look possible. And while I was walking on the campus I decided to pray and hold God by his word in Job 22:28 as I said to God’ Lord you said in your word that ” What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways”, Lord with that mandate of authority you placed upon my life through Christ Jesus I declare and decree I will study in Australia.” I just continued walking on the campus and kept on praying.

The day before I was supposed to fly back to South Africa, I received a letter of admission from QUT and I was placed on a bridging visa which would allow me to stay in the country while the immigration department finalised my student Visa.

A week later, I got on a plane to Brisbane. And as I was on that plane to Brisbane I prayed again ” Lord, as I go to Brisbane, place me in the church you want me to be in and help me find a church where I can worship you”.

On my second day living in Brisbane which was a Friday, my roommate, at that time, invited me to join him as he was going to CCM’s Envisioning night. And the people that I met on that day are very same loving and amazing people I share life with till this day.

No situation is too impossible for God. Jeremiah 32:27 ” I am the Lord God of mankind, is anything too hard for me?” Looking back, God had everything divinely planned out, from having no intentions of studying in Australia, to being able to study in QUT, and even leading me to a community of faith where I could be planted and rooted.

Proverbs 3:5-6 ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and he will make your paths straight.” Therefore, I want to encourage you all to surrender and submit all your ways to the Lord, because I can stand today and testify that Gods way, is the best way.
