Sept 2016, God gave me a vision to start a business to create employment opportunities for people with disability. At the time I didn’t know when and how. Since then God have shown me over and over again that my simple YES at the time was enough for Him to do more than I could ever dream of or imagine. There has been so many God’s stories through the years. Despite all of the highs and lows I’ve encountered while running a business, God always shows up in times of need and desperation. He has brought people and resources to my path in His perfect timing. Step by step, He has revealed to me His blueprint for the business. When I didn’t want to step out of my comfort zone, He allowed circumstances to occur at my place of employment, so I had to resign from my post. When I was complaining about the training season I was in, He showed me that His Grace was more than enough to carry me through. When I was in doubt about the outcome of our grant application, He assured me ‘He promises what He has promised’. When the business partnership fell apart only 2 weeks before our grand opening, He demonstrated to me that ‘He makes all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose’. When I had no clue how I was going to meet all the financial obligations of running a business, He answered my prayer to be my safety net. When we had to build our customer base from zero, He opened the doors for us that no one could shut. When I felt extremely unqualified of all the tasks ahead, He reminded me that He didn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Since July 2018, our business has serviced over 100 participants on the Gold Coast. 42% of our active caseload are currently in employment and training. We have 3 service sites across Gold Coast and 3 full time employees.
Today I’m thankful that God didn’t show me how His plan was going to unfold from the very beginning. If He did so, I doubted that I would have the courage to say YES after knowing some of the processes. It’s such a comfort to know that our God always backs us up when we obey and take a step. I’m also grateful for close friends, family and the community He has placed around me. All their prayers, encouragement and support have made a world of differences.
